Macehead, weight, digging stick
An Early Mesolithic quartzite pebble macehead dating 10,000 - 7,000 BCE. The macehead has a hand-drilled central hole, probably to hold a handle, the overall shape of the pebble doesn't seem to have been otherwise changed. Maceheads like this in the Mesolithic period have evidencec of being used as a hammer-like tool, it would also be an effective weapon. Another interpretation is that it could have been a weight used on a digging stick.
