A copper alloy contemporary copy of an as coin of Emperor Claudius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 41-54. The back of the coin depicts Minerva, the Roman goddess of war, poetry, medicine, magic and crafts. This coin was made c. AD 41-54.
Obv: Bare head of Claudius, facing left. Obv inscription: [TI CLAVD]IVS CAESAR AVG [PM TR P IMP]. Rev: Minerva, advancing right, holding a javelin in her right hand and a round shield in the left. Rev inscription: SC in field.
