A contemporary copy of an as coin struck by Agrippa's grandson the Emperor Caligula, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 37-41. The back of the coin depicts Neptune, the Roman god of the sea. This coin was made c. AD 37-41.
Obv: Head of Agrippa, facing left, wearing a rostral crown. Obv inscription: M AGRIPPA LF COS III. Rev: Neptune, standing left, holding a dolphin in his right hand and a trident in the left. Rev inscription: SC in field. Part of a burnt hoard from King William Street, City of London.
