Knife, carpenter's drawing knife
This drawing knife with wooden handles forms part of a group of tools contained in a fine early 19th century tool chest. Many of the tools are marked W Gray. The drawing knife has no owner's name but the blade is marked 'WARD'. The drawing knife was possibly not part of the original compliment of tools in the chest. Such tools were used for removing surplus wood as well as rounding and chamfering.
