Sword, sword handle
A bone handle for a legionary sword, or gladius. When viewed in section, the handle is more rectangular than circular. There are three intermediate ridges acting as finger grips which are worn down from use. It is nearly complete but for an edge chip and a stress crack.
Although some handles of this type are found on long swords, more examples are associated with gladius swords.
