Earring
Pair of gold earrings, part of a set including a brooch and bracelet. The oval shaped pendants have a cabled border and a central enamelled star set with a half pearl. Pencilled annotations on the satin lid of the original case give a date of 15 September 1864.
The Clerkenwell jeweller Hermann Wehrfritz made these earrings for his wife. They were donated by his daughter. Wehrfritz trained as a jeweller in Paris before coming to London in 1860.
