Brooch
The Clerkenwell jeweller Hermann Wehrfritz made this brooch for his wife. It is a cameo with two female profiles representing Night and Day, accompanied by an owl and an eagle respectively. There is also a pair of matching earrings. Wehrfritz trained as a jeweller in Paris before coming to London in 1860.
