Buckle
Copper alloy waist buckle, chased and repoussé. It has flowers and flourishes on a ground of basket-weave engraving, gilded in three colours.
The buckle was made in France or England. Chased coloured goldwork of this quality is often proved to be French, but the movement of skilled craftsmen makes it almost impossible to distinguish precisely between the European centres of the jewellery trade.
