Stool, tabouret, coffee stool
Carved wooden octagonal tabouret coffee stool inlaid with mother-of-pearl decoration. Known as Damascus furniture such items were imported into London from the Middle East and sold in the oriental departments of fashionable furniture stores such as Maple of Tottenham Court Road and Gamages of Holborn.
