Women, Weights and Empowerment Trilogy 2

Trilogy of photographic prints produced by artist Jemima Yong in collaboration with weight training coach Danni Tabor, also featuring her son, Ori. This series shares the theme of motherhood and body confidence.

The trilogy was produced so that the first image alludes to the preparation stage of a weight lift, the second, to ideas of strength and the final image, what weight training gives to their lives.

The resulting series of three images were selected collaboratively between the artist and Danni Tabor.

"I used to find looking at my body really difficult. So getting to a space where I could just dance freely in my underwear without judgement is like a really big thing for me. And so when we involved Ori, we talk a lot about affirmations, and affirming things that you want to believe, to essentially make them true. I really want that for Ori, that when he looks at himself, his reflection, he can affirm the things he wants and needs." Danni Tabor
