Royal Arms mace
One of a pair of maces. These were used as a symbol of authority in both civic and court ceremonial. Maces were carried by the Sergeant-at-Arms ‘in all solemn assemblies before his Majesty’. These maces are engraved with the royal arms, a maker's mark ‘TB’ and the London hallmark for 1622.
