Circular pair-cased verge watch
Pins have been added to this watch at each of the Roman numerals marked on its face. It also has a large steel hand. These modifications were probably made so that a blind or partially sighted owner was able to use the watch. Timepieces for blind people work in a similar way today. They may have enlarged figures on the dial or raised Braille dots marking the hour.
