Casserole
Surrey/Hampshire border whiteware handled casserole with yellow glaze. The casserole has an oval elongated body on four splayed feet, a handle at each end of the body and one on the lid. The lid and the interior are glazed and the vessel was presumably fired with green glazed wares because there is a splash of green glaze on one foot. The vessel was restored after being found during the installation of a new lift shaft at Drummonds Bank in Charing Cross. Sherds from similar vessels have been excavated from Farnborough Hill.
