Printing plate for devotional text
This copper printing plate would have been used to illustrate devotional texts. On the obverse are the figures of St Anne; Madonna and Child; Christ; St Mary Magdelen with alabaster jar. On the reverse is an arcadian scene of stag and two harts in a forest. Inscribed with the letters I.A.V. in a square frame. Possibly associated with Cathars sect in France.
