Paintings, Prints & Drawings — 1994
South Bank
Arturo di Stefano's painting looks east, from the South Bank, near the National Theatre, towards the City and the dome of St. Paul's Cathedral. The artist's careful composition creates a balance between trees, water and architecture. Di Stefano has exaggerated the whiteness of St. Paul's and abstractedly rendered London's modern buildings. Some of the architectural structures in the background blend seamlessly into the clear sky.
