The button bears the coat of arms and motto of the Howard de Walden family (non quo sed quomodo - not by whom but in what manner). Trimmed with light blue ribbon and dark and light blue ostrich feathers. Metal toothed ornament on the front of the hat. Lined with off-white (cream) silk printed in black ink with 'BY WARRANTY TO/HIS MAJESTY THE KING/ESTABLISHED IN THE REIGN OF KING GEORGE IV/HENRY HEATH/LIMITED./1822/105, 107, 109, OXFORD ST. W./LONDON.' and having a paper label handwritten with a name.
