A Butcher's Boy Racing with a Postman in the Mall
A butcher's boy in a blue smock on a white horse is shown racing with a postman on a brown horse in the centre; edging ahead, the butcher's boy appears to be mocking his competitor by waving his hand.
Witnessing the race from a distance are, on the left, a soldier, his wife and a man with a placard and, on the right, a policeman and a four-wheeled cab.
Lancaster House can be seen in the far distance on the right placing the work in the Mall.
