Print, lithograph
One of ten lithographs making up a panorama of the north bank of the river from the Houses of Parliament to the Tower of London (58.22/55 - 58.22/64). This view is from the southbank and shows the riverside from just east of Somerset House to Temple Gardens. The Keying (advertised in the view as "Royal Chinese Junk") came to London in March 1848 (East India Dock) and was subsequently moved to Temple Pier, Essex Street. It was there at the time of the Great Exhibition. The view also includes the Thames Police Station.
