Volunteering

We really value the diverse skills, knowledge and experience that our volunteers bring. Our volunteers get involved in lots of areas of museum life by:

• providing a warm welcome to schools as they arrive
• helping catalogue our objects, so they're more accessible to a wider audience
• sharing knowledge and lived experience to help bring our collections to life
• supporting family activities
• helping our conservation team to care for our objects
• assisting at events and supporting museum hosts in the galleries
• researching our archives

We welcome anyone who wants to get involved. You don’t need to have any experience of working or volunteering in a museum and you don’t need any qualifications – just an enthusiasm for working with people and collections.
