Thinking of applying for a job with us? Here are answers to common questions about our application, selection and interview process.
Before you apply
Each role we advertise has a job description setting out the responsibilities of the role. In each job description there’s a person specification which sets out the knowledge, skills and experience needed for the role.
We’ll try to accommodate the availability of shortlisted candidates as best we can, so please give us any dates when you aren’t available on your application form.

Completing your application
We’re really sorry if this has happened to you. We do our best to make the application process as straightforward as possible and in most cases, your application form is automatically saved.
With the supporting statement, please save your work regularly as the system may time you out after inactivity. You may also want to type up your supporting statement in a Word document and paste this into the application form.

You can sign up for job alerts by logging in to your London Museum jobs account and subscribing to receive emails about new positions.
We'd like to be able to provide feedback to everyone who takes the time to apply for one of our job vacancies. We receive a large number of applications for our roles, so it’s unfortunately not possible for us to come back to everyone. We do offer feedback to unsuccessful interview candidates.
You should receive an email confirming that your application has been received on the same day. You should then get an email from us about the outcome within a week of the closing date.

Interviewing

We’ll try our best to arrange another date and time, but we can’t always guarantee this, as it’s dependent on the interview panel’s availability.

Most of our roles have a test as part of the interview process. We’ll let you know if you have to complete any tests at the time you’re invited to interview.
It’s likely that you’ll be asked to complete the test using a computer, but it’s dependent on the role.
When you’ve booked your interview slot, we’ll email you about the location of your interview and who will be greeting you.

After interview
We aim to inform interview candidates of the outcome of their interview within one week of their interview date, or earlier if we can.
If you haven’t heard from us a week after your interview, we’re really sorry about this. Please contact us on [email protected] and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
We’ll contact you by phone to confirm your conditional offer and its terms. If you accept, we’ll email you within two working days confirming the offer and next steps.
Yes, we can offer all unsuccessful candidates who attended an interview the opportunity to request feedback.
