A celebration of London's vibrant food culture, led by Ruby Tandoh and Jonathan Nunn.

The museum’s inaugural programme, London Tastes, will celebrate the city’s rich and vibrant food culture, led by Guest Editors Ruby Tandoh, whose work explores the intersections of food and social change, and Jonathan Nunn, founder of the influential food publication Vittles.

London is a global food city with a long history – Covent Garden market, vibrant Brick Lane, traditional pie and mash shops and chicken shop culture. London Tastes celebrates that history as well as the city’s people, creativity and its mix of flavours with a series of events and a spotlight exhibition.

The spotlight exhibition will explore how appetites have changed as the city has evolved, including the global influences that make the city’s food scene so distinctive.

Day-to-night activities will animate the General Market’s ground floor, delivered with partners including fabric nightclub, Morley’s chicken shop, Punchdrunk Enrichment and Hive Curates.

London Tastes is sponsored by Sainsbury’s, whose roots in London date back to its first store on Drury Lane over 150 years ago.
