Experience Delaine Le Bas’ Calling Card 24062026 after Adrian Piper performance throughout the galleries at London Museum Docklands.

This event is part of a curated series of talks, performances and workshops that expand upon our By Appointment Only display at London Museum Docklands. This series invites visitors to engage deeper with themes of visual activism, identity, and the lived experiences of British Romani artists.

Delaine will be ‘calling’ in three locations in the museum with gifts of calling cards relating to her historical and ongoing archive with specific relation to London.

Delaine describes 'calling' as going out with "pegs, ribbons and trims, to tell fortunes and possibly to collect any unwanted items to sell on. It was a regular occupation and took place in regular locations and at specific times. It was a main source of income and was an independent source of income very often being the main way of feeding not only the immediate family but also other relatives who were ‘stopping’ together."

With reference to the work of artist Adrian Piper titled My Calling (Cards) #1 and #2 (1986–1990).
