A Persepctive View of Tower Hill and the Place of Execution of the Lords Kilmarnock and Balmerino on Monday 18 of August 1746
Execution on Tower Hill of the Earl of Kilmarnock and Lord Balmarino after the 1745 Jacobite rebellion. The caption records that the Governor of the Tower was delivering the prisoners to the Sheriffs of London for execution. The etching shows the view from the Tower, with surrounding houses, a crowd assembling, and the execution platform surrounded by redcoats. See also 46.61/1 - a view at the moment of execution.
