Sr. Paul Pindar's Lodge or Garden House, Half-Moon Alley, Bishopsgate Street
Sir Paul Pindar's Lodge. Paul Pindar was sent to London from Northampton as a boy and apprenticed to a merchant who made him his factor in Italy where he made his fortune. He returned to London in the 1620s and built this fine mansion. It was demolished by the Great Eastern Railway in 1890 after having been used as a notable tavern throughout the C18. The view includes several passing tradesmen and others.
