Printed Ephemera — 1845-1870
Tinsel ornament
Nineteen small boxes containing pre-stamped metal foil tinsel ornaments used for decorating theatrical tinsel portraits. Seventeen of the boxes are of card covered in red paper. An example of the contents within is applied to a paper label stuck to the lid. Each box contains a different shape or ornament. Used by Jonathan King as part of his shop stock, the ornaments would be sold individually or as part of a set for tinselling portraits at home.
