Earl Rivers presenting his book and William Caxton to Edward IV in 1477. Anthony Woodville, Earl Rivers (1440-1483) was a scholar and author, the earliest patron of Caxton and the translator of the first book printed in England.
A later variation of this print with a different border was published in an unidentified publication in 1807 (British Museum: 1920,1211.374).
