A view of the bridge over the Thames at Hampton Court
'A view of the bridge over the Thames at Hampton Court'.
Hampton Court Bridge, East Molesey was built in 1753, a seven-span timber bridge, the largest chinoiserie bridge ever built. Despite its flimsy and undulating appearance, it was a road bridge 20ft wide. It was replaced by an iron bridge in 1865 and the present bridge was built in 1930-3.
