Paintings, Prints & Drawings — 1812
Tottenham Court Road
Tottenham Court Road, Turnpike and St James Chapel. As late as the 1840s, Tottenham Court Road was still bordered by farm land at its north end. According to this aquatint, the pace of life was decidedly rural as people continued to drive cattle south from Hampstead to Oxford Street. Ackerman's Repository of Arts.
