The Military Prophet: or a Flight from Providence
'The Military Prophet; or a Flight from Providence'. Subtitled "Address'd to the Foolish and Guilty, who timidly withdrew themselves on the Alarm of another Earthquake, April 1750", this shows a scene of panicky flight by people in coaches, with a crowd of worried people on foot and one woman selling prophesies. Four columns of verse beneath the engraving contrast the virtue of those who betook themselves to prayer when the earthquake struck and the vice and folly of those who fled town and providence's wrath.
