A View of Stocks Market
A view of the Stocks Market - rebuilt after the Great Fire but closed and demolished in 1737 to make way for the Mansion House. The equestrian statue is of Charles II trampling Cromwell (adapted from an imported half-finished statue of King John Sobievski of Poland trampling a Turk). No. 39 of a series. Same as A9071, same engraving as C118, same as A22231.
