Cod-piece
In the early Tudor period, men's clothes were designed to emphasise strength and power. A burly, virile look was achieved with exaggerated
padding across the shoulders and chest and most obviously in the codpiece. Several codpieces made from layers of woven cloth have been found in London, with pieces of fabric that might be part of the breeches they were originally part of.
