Cap fragment, earflap
Stocking stitch knitted ear flap. Wool yarn diameter: 1.8-1.9 mm, 2 ply S spun. Cut edge would have been sewn to hat; cast on and cast off edges sewn together at widest edge, decreasing stitches to narrow end, stitch holes present at bottom of earflap.
The piece was bought by the London Museum in 1924 and no further find details are known.
