Cap fragment, earflap
Stocking stitch knitted ear flap. Cut edge sewn to hat; increasing stitches from cut edge; stitch holes present at narrow end; cast on and cast off edges sewn together at widest edge; stitch holes at bottom of ear flap. Yarn diameter: 1.9 mm, 2 ply, Z spun.
The piece was bought by the London Museum in 1924 and no further find details are known.
