Cap fragment, earflap
Earflap knitted in stocking stitch in dark brown wool yarn 1.2 mm diameter, 2 ply, Z spun. Decreasing stitches from the narrowest end and cast off at the widest end. Cut edge at the narrowest edge with ten stitch holes 0.3 mm in diameter. At widest edge finished off with whip stitch, woollen thread still in place.
The ear piece was given to the London Museum by the costumer Doreen Erroll and probably came from one of G. F. Lawrence's exacvations in FInsbury or Worship Street in the 1920s. No further find details are known.
