Mitten
Pair of fine black linen lace mittens. Made from three pieces: hand, small gauntlet and thumb piece. Handpiece extends to knuckles only. Silk drawstring ribbon is picot edged black silk at wrist. Hand-made flower motifs made separately (tape type) and then applied (Honiton). Condition: disintegrating at wrist. Seam along outer edge is sewn with spaced whip/fell stitches; thumb piece is also set in with similar whip/fell stitches; drawstring at wrist has a knotted thread casing.
