Trimming, lace
Cream linen Valenciennes bobbin lace with all-over repeating pattern (97 mm) of swirling plants with feathery leaves and shaggy flower heads.
After the lace was originally made, the two pieces of the border were joined to form a V-shaped edging. An outlining cordonnet was darned-in round parts of the pattern and new picot edgings were added.
