Waistcoat
Men's waistcoat with fronts of ivory silk satin and back of glossy twill weave of worsted wool (possibly a later replacement). Fronts embroidered with an allover sprig pattern in brown chenille and tamboured cream silk thread. Border at closing edges, hem and pocket flaps, incorporating a narrow strip of net laid over pale blue silk, embroidered with coloured silks and chenille in simple sprig and leaf design. A more elaborate motif of festoons and roses on and below the pocket flaps. Fastening with thirteen small embroidered buttons. Centre back seam split for most of its length, fastening with a single lace (not original). Lined with cream fustian.
