Coat, lounge jacket (suit)
A man's single breasted lounge jacket made from a speckled blue wool cloth with a fine brown stripe. It is part of a suit worn by Dr. Paul Zettel in London after he fled Austria at the outbreak of World War II in 1939.
Single breasted, turndown collar and revers. Fronts each in one section fastening with three buttons and buttonholes. Shaped with darts at waist. Slit pocket with flap each side; slit pocket on left at armhole level; slit pocket in front lining each side. Back in two sections. Long sleeves in two sections, four buttons at wrists. Padded shoudlers. Body lined with grey silk; sleeves with striped silk. Label which was stitched beneath the hanging loop has been removed. Printed label stitched to the inside of the inner right breast pocket: 'JOSEF KOHEL/ WIEN 1. STALLBURGGASSE 2/ Herr [Dr Paul Zettel]/ Datum 19[37]'.
