Tobacco barrels in storage, 14th March 1922
Hogshead barrels containing tobacco, stored in a warehouse at Royal Docks. These storage warehouses were designed in order to hold large numbes of barrels; they could be stacked up to 5 high. The tobacco imported in barrels tended to be of a lower quality, used for pipes or snuff.
