This navy blue boiler suit was purchased for 17/3 and 4 coupons from Selfridges department store in 1945. Made from a heavy cotton material these overalls were commonplace in factories across the country during the Second World War. The boiler suit has four pockets and six metal buttons down the front. The label sewn onto the front left leg reads '476 No1 Carhartts All British Overalls Dundee Utility 3911/2 Size 40 CC41'.
