Fashion — 1971-1977
Tie
Blue, purple and green tie with an abstract print which resembles ink blots. The label reads 'JOHN ADAM/ Men's Fashion Salon/ London'.
This is part of a large group of clothes donated by Peter Viti, born in Bloomsbury in 1936. Viti attended the Central School of Arts and Crafts, then entered into a partnership making costumes and props. He eventually went into the family business of letting property. Viti calls himself ‘a bit of a dandy’. He purchased clothing from the boutiques which revolutionised men’s fashion in the 1960s in the King's Road and in Carnaby Street.
