Mr Gomersal as Earl Douglas
Theatrical souvenir plate engraved with a portrait of the actor Mr Gomersal in the role of Earl Douglas in the play Chevy Chase. Published June 4th 1832. The sheet is also marked 'Scenes and characters in Chevy Chase are now publishing as above in the same superior style as Aladdin'. Such sheets would have been sold plain as theatrical souvenirs for colouring and tinselling at home.
