Paper being unloaded in Surrey commercial docks
The Surrey Commercial docks were the only enclosed docks to be built in London on the South side of the River Thames. The docks suffered massive damage during the Second World War and finally closed in 1969. The Surrey Quays housing development now stands in the redeveloped area of the Docks.
