Rolls of paper being unloaded in Surrey commercial docks
The Surrey commercial docks were situated in Rotherhithe, South London. In total 9 docks made up the system covereing an area of 372 aches. Although timber and grain were the staple goods at the docks other commodities such as paper, tar and coal were also loaded and unloaded here. The docks closed in 1969 and the area has been redeveloped as housing, now called Surrey Quays.
