The East and West India Dock Company Superintendent's Office Court Order Book. The volume contains copies of and extracts from internal letters, memoranda, instructions and reports relating to the operation of the docks, very similar to a Letter Book.
The subjects include dock rates upon various types of cargo, the weighing and sampling of cargoes, the supply of items used in the docks during the course of work, the enforcement of regulations and operating practices, salaries, employment and pensions (including some named individuals) and the Provident Society.
