Social History — 1996
Badge, lapel badge, clasp
Back clasp from gilt metal lapel badge. The badge is in two pieces with a pinched clip back and front stud with pin. The stud is oval in shape, and on the front has a raised border and a matt sandblasted finish incorporating the 'London Marque' logo on the front. On the reverse of the stud below the pin in raised lettering are trade mark and copyright details. The 'London Marque' was launched in January 1996 by the Department of National Heritage, the British Tourist Authority and the London Tourist Board to improve overseas marketing, particularly with the approaching Millennium celebrations. The Rocket Badge Company were granted an exclusive license to produce and supply a range of items promoting the Marque.
