Fred Spencer of Eton Manor Sports Club
Colour pigment photographic print of Fred Spencer, a member of Eton Manor Sports Club, standing before the Club's war memorial at Stratford, 2007. The Club was founded in the early 1900s, and Fred joined in 1945 at the age of 14. The site of the Club and its war memorial were redeveloped as the venue for Wheelchair Tennis and temporary training swimming pools for the Olympics, although the memorial was to be restored and reinstated after the Games. This photograph was taken as part of a project to document the site of the London 2012 Olympic Games prior to its closure for redevelopment in July 2007.
