Banner Chemicals followed a long tradition of chemical works that were established in this part of London. Significant chemical contamination of the proposed site for the Olympics was discovered here as a legacy of its industrial past, and this had to be cleaned up under the supervision of the Environment Agency. This photograph was taken as part of a project to document the site of the London 2012 Olympic Games prior to its closure for redevelopment in July 2007.
