View across the City Mill River just south of Marshgate Lane
Colour photographic pigment print showing a view across City Mill River just south of Marshgate Lane, 2005. Across the river is the site that a few years later would be redeveloped for the main Olympic Stadium. The City Mill River runs from the River Lea, and once flowed to a large chemical works called City Mill. The Mill closed in the 1930s when improvements were made to the Bow Back Rivers. This photograph was taken as part of a project to document the site of the London Olympic 2012 Games prior to its closure for redevelopment in July 2007.
