Warton House
Black and white pigment photographic print showing Warton House from the Greenway by Stratford High Street. Built in 1937, Warton House was the packaging factory for the perfume and cosmetics company Yardley. On the side of the building is a mosaic of the company's distinctive 'lavender girls', an illustration of flowersellers based on a painting by the 18th century artist Francis Wheatley for his series 'Cries of London'. This photograph was taken as part of a project to document the site of the London 2012 Olympic Games prior to its closure for redevelopment in July 2007.
